Digital Images, New in 2013! | Neenah Portrait Photographer

Many of my portrait clients have asked about purchasing images in the last few years... and I'm happy to announce that starting now in 2013, purchasing images will be an option! :)

Please understand that my views on professional prints, albums, and other products that I can provide for you have *not* changed... I just want to meet a need I feel many of my clients feel.

I believe in prints. I know first hand how easy it is to let a disc or USB of images sit around for weeks, months, even years, before getting anything printed.

Also, it's so much easier to lose (or break.. ack!) a disc and lose all your memories.

And when all is said and done, you get so much more joy from looking at your prints on your walls because you see them every. single. day.

So, that's why I will have a minimum order requirement before you have the option to purchase these images. I know the next question on your minds, so here are the details:

Children's sessions will need to reach at least a $350. portrait order before being able to purchase any image for $35. Family and senior sessions will need to have a $600. or greater portrait order before being able to purchase any image for $35.

I guarantee you will love them though! Each image will be carefully retouched and completely finished at full-resolution with no watermark. And of course, they will come with a printing release for you. I am even looking into customized Baseman Studios USB drives. How sweet is that?! :)

Neenah, WI, Wedding and Engagement Photographer | Memory Book... Chase&Sarah

A few days ago, I posted about a recent Heirloom Album for Nathan and Tiffany. Just recently, I also received Chase&Sarah's wedding album back from the lab. [ Click here to view Chase and Sarah's original wedding post.]

Wow, talk about another one that I just want to keep and not give to them!! :D

The Memory Book is a little less "fancy" than the Heirloom Album, with press-printed paper rather than photographic paper adhered to a thicker substrate. The Memory Book is similar to the coffee-table-book style many people recognize.

However, these aren't just any coffee-table-style books. They are custom-designed by yours truly and professionally printed and bound by my lab in Iowa. I always tell my couples that both of these albums will last years and years... barring kids and natural disasters. ;)

I know it's hard to visualize things, especially final products. So when you see the proof of your album, it's hard to realize just how awesome it will be once printed.

I was so impressed with the beauty of this album when I opened the box yesterday. I didn't even want to give this Heirloom Album to Nate and Tiffany... I just wanted to keep it for myself! hah! [See their original wedding photography post here.]

I cannot tell you how incredible this Heirloom album is... so I'll try my best to show you through these images (taken by my point-and-shoot Canon camera with lamp lighting :D).

If you've sat down and discussed wedding collections with me, you know that that I offer two different types of albums: the Heirloom Album and the Memory Book.

This is the Heirloom Album, once again, and worth every cent.

I love putting orders together... there's just something about stickers, textured print boxes, and my teal/green combo that gives me warm fuzzies. :)

I had fun putting this order together this evening and snapped a few shots with my iPhone so you could see it also!

Plus my desk was clean enough to photograph them on.. score for organization! However, that just means that the pile of papers was moved to a basket instead of being directly on the desk. hah!

Snow! Holidays! Cards! | Neenah, WI, Family Photographer

It's snowing here!

Makes my thoughts turn to the upcoming holidays... and therefore, holiday cards! Check out this recent card I put together for a client. This is an example of a 5x7 flat postcard, to be mailed in the included envelopes.

All of Baseman Studios' holiday cards are custom-designed by yours truly, starting with 4-6 of your top images from your session, meaningful wording, and a blank "piece of paper." Then I press the "magic" button in Photoshop and end up with something like this! ;)

Just received the check for a tuition credit for an entrepreneurial class earlier this year.

This means Baseman Studios Photography t-shirts and sweatshirts! (The tanktop idea has been put on hold until next spring/summer.) Who says business expenses can't be a bit frivolous and fun?!

Shirts! | Neenah Portrait Photographer

I need your help!

I live in t-shirts (and tank-tops in the summer).. I wear them all the time! In the past, my photo program shirts have been my staple for shooting sessions. However, I think it's time to do a little upgrade into something of my own.

I've come up with some designs that I want to get printed. Along with these, I'm looking into formal, oxford-type shirts for client consultations, photographing weddings, and the like.

Any thoughts/opinions?

(ps. This is why I do photography and not anything drawing-related. Heh.)

24weeks {4days} Sneak Peek! | Neenah Maternity Photographer

Last week was the 24-week marker... so we had another round of photos. She had a lot of great ideas, including working in her/their room with their bed and some maternity/baby books.

Gave me a little more practice with my flash (bouncing it off the ceiling) to create the look I was imagining... I love the inside shots more than what we captured outside!

Video's coming tomorrow and the rest spread out the next few days. :)

Ps. A huge thank-you to all my fans and followers who gave your opinions on my idea for a new logo. Many of you told me to keep trusty, old faithful, which I am going to do. However, I'll be adding a lot more color in the future and streamlining some things when I re-work my sessions, packages, and prices for 2011.

Help, please! | Neenah Portrait Photographer

I've been coming to the realization lately that my logo looks a little outdated... not very snappy and modern.

Seems a little stagnant.. or is it just time for a change after two years of using my trusty same font?

I figure that before I get really deep into samples, packaging, and other goodies (such as a sign for the car window... exciting!) for the business, I should probably settle this feeling for sure.

So what are your thoughts? Do you like it the way it is? Or do you think it needs an update?

This is one of my ideas. I would use the colored version throughout all my packaging, and a gray tone version for the prints and images.

Second album choice | Neenah, Wisconsin, Wedding Photographer

Our second type of album, the Memory Book, is another album choice coming to the wedding packages next year. This is the same size, same number of pages, same design... however, quite a bit smaller, width-wise, due to thinner pages and a thinner cover.

The Heirloom Album ranks first in durability, but this little number comes in second!

Typical of coffee-table-style albums, this one has wrapped corners. The cover is thicker than most, however.

The pages are a thick press-printed paper, versus the photo paper from the album before.Along with the square edges, this cuts down on the shelf life by a few years.





Still can be displayed beautifully, however. :)
