Just wanted to put a quick note on here as well that I will be out for the rest of the week.
My older brother passed away early Sunday morning, so I'll be heading back to my hometown in northwest Iowa to be with my family.
Back when I was in photography school, I had him pose for a 'personality portrait.' He used to love to play guitar and sing.. very talented. The hubby and I went out a few different times to watch and hear him play. This was one of those times. :)
Appreciate your support and understanding in this difficult time... please leave a message in my voicemail or email, and I'll get back to you next week.
Thanks,
Mariah B

Bailey Marie | Neenah Pet Photographer in Wisconsin
The pupper that started it all: Bailey Marie.
She's 7 years old, has a distinct personality, and is quirky in her own, loveable way. :)
If you remember from a while back, this is was another session for our "Baseman Dogs" calendar. I think it went pretty well.

Sparkly! | Wedding Photographer | Neenah, Wisconsin
It's no secret that I love sparkly things... 3 years ago, I was married in the dress with the most sparkles I could find.
Enough about me. So, of course, I rather enjoy engaged couples and weddings! Rings, dresses, accessories, and all sorts of gorgeousness.
Speaking of accessories, check out Margo Rouge from Menasha, Wisconsin. Another one of my favorite wedding vendors in the area, Heather has the most chic accessories you could find... anything from modern to retro, everything custom and hand-made. Examples of awesome Margo Rouge accessories (Photos borrowed from http://www.margorouge.com/):
Fred&Wynne didn't have any of Margo Rouge's accessories in their wedding... just got sidetracked for a moment. :)
However, I do absolutely LOVE Wynne's dress! Sparkle-city!

Warmer days & beautiful brides! | Fox Valley, WI, Wedding Photographer; Neenah, WI, Wedding Photographer
I love this image (right below)... makes me think of warmer days. I have a sister-in-law spending a semester of college up in Alaska right now, so I shouldn't complain... but wow, it's been cold here lately. I start to get pretty nostalgic this time of year for summer. :)
I love wedding day details. In my mind, the details make up a wedding. Don't care about your wedding day details? Too busy? Hire a wedding planner such as Details, a professional planning company (Appleton), All Dressed Up Event Planning (Neenah), Seize the Day Events (Green Bay), to take care of these details for you! They're also exceptional at the "big stuff" too.
Some wedding planners and vendors offer incentives or mutual-client discounts. This is why: wedding vendors appreciate other wedding vendors who are great to YOU, their clients! Getting recommendations from other vendors is almost an insurance policy, if you will, because they know the reputation and quality that company/vendor offers.
Ask your wedding vendors who they prefer... who has impressed them, who shows up on time, who delivers every. single. time.
Soon, I'll be putting up another page to this blog... listing some of my favorite vendors. I'll also tell you if there's any mutual-client discounts headed your way! :)
Enjoy Fred&Wynne's ceremony... and stay warm!

Having a good time | Wedding Photographer in the Fox Valley
I love laughter.
I love moments like these, where everyone is having a grand time... oblivious to me! :)

Fred&Wynne.. "first look" | Neenah, Wisconsin, Wedding Photographer
Fred&Wynne chose to have a first look on their wedding day... I can't say enough about doing a "first look!"
Besides being the modern, hip thing to do, it offers you time before the ceremony to see each other, spend an intimate moment together, and just relax a bit. Weddings can be stressful and the momentum just keeps building. A "first look" gives you that little refresher time to breath, relax, and be with each other.
Not to mention, it allows for some great family, wedding party, and just-the-two-of-you picture time!
Besides. When she's walking all pretty down the aisle, I'm blocking the view for him as I'm snapping away.

An archived wedding | Wedding Photographer in Neenah, Wisconsin
When I'm 'just' a contracted second-shooter for weddings, sometimes I like to have a little more fun.
Sometimes, (heh, all of the time) my clients get preferred treatment for sessions, orders, and blog posting. And sometimes, great images get 'stowed' away for a later time.
Now, in honor of January being some unspoken national wedding planning month, these great images from last October are being brought to the table.
Meet Fred & Wynne... they had been a couple for quite a few years by the time they were married on 10.02.10. It was easy to see their quiet, underlying love for each other throughout the day. They are a very down-to-earth couple loved by family, friends, and neighbors.
Both the ceremony and the reception/dance were held at The Marq, which is a lovely facility. Just as if we'd ordered it, the sprinkles went away, clouds opened up and a bright ray of sunshine burst forth as Wynne came down the aisle. Lovely!
Enjoy! I'll be posting more throughout the next couple of days. :)
